- 23 - “to know the products and the brand well and to understand their needs.” A one-year, long-term process was conducted for the Dr-Light showroom. Sections, colors and materials were decided on. Uysun explains the working process as follows: “We have come to a consensus on a design that will not stand in the way of the products while new products are being created, and will draw attention when you enter the space. All the metal materials we used in the showroom were produced and assembled by Dr-Light craftsmen at the factory.” The section for technical lighting and the leather sunshades and metal wall, applied in General Manager Agop Dülgar’s room were Uysun’s favorite elements of the project. “We Used Our Own Resources” “We were estimating how much the showroom would cost, we thought it would be better to use our own resources to keep it under control, which led us to metalworking,” said Uysun, adding that they were inspired by Dr-Light products: “We used sheet metal, brass, oxidized metals, and small final touches helped us get the result we wanted. Our inspiration was Dr-Light products. I think it is a showroom worthy of Dr-Light, I am very happy with the work and our cooperation. I am also grateful for the fact that I enjoyed being present at the construction site, that I still want to stop by whenever I have time to this day, and that I've made friends.” Arto Uysun and his company Design Partners International won the 2017-2018 European Property Awards-Retail Interior Award with this project while also being nominated for the 2019 German Design Award.
